Artistry comes in all forms and today we zero in on one artist’s particular form: designing custom tables. Today we showcase Nashville’s very own, Peter Fleming (a talented instructor at the O’More College of Design and co-designer with Bobby McAlpine for the McAlpine Furniture Line) and his philosophy and concepts behind a few of his personal custom tables.
A few weeks ago, these tables were featured in a gallery show at the O’More College of Design. We were so taken with them, we knew we wanted to share these unique works with our readers. All of Peter’s pieces are his original designs and one of a kind (and for sale too, in case you were wondering!). Peter’s focus is on experimenting with materials such as velvet, parchment, felt and shagreen that are placed on various table tops.
Here are a few of our favorites:
“Billy” Drink Stand
“Annie & Clarabel” Occasional Tables (Pair)
“Audrey” Nesting Side Tables
“Winston” An Umbrella Stand
“Fozzy” Block Top Occasional Table
Thank you, Peter, for showing us your impressive pieces. They would complement any room!
Come see Peter’s work this Friday, March 1 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Franklin Art Scene. If you are
interested in Peter’s pieces or you would like to see more of his collection, please contact Peter at

The pictures don’t nearly do these pieces justice! I just recently saw this collection in person and they are exquisite. They truly blend art and function into one! Annie & Clarabel are on my wishlist!!
All exquisite pieces, they stand alone beautifully but I can imagine them playing well with other furnishings. Great conversation starters!
Peter is such a brilliant designer! These pieces are seriously so incredible in person!
A wonderful collection! The details in these pieces have a unique whimsy and charm… I was lucky to see these works of art and their detail drawings on display in Franklin. Truly functional art for the home! Are these available for purchase? I think the Audrey is my favorite…
I would invite Billy over to hold my drink. You must bring Annie and Clarabel inside. I don’t think asphalt is good for either of them. Maybe Winston is ok out there since he is an umbrella stand. I can’t decide which piece I like best. They are all wonderful and would look gorgeous in any setting.
Amazing you can do more than most of us in a 24 hour cycle. Great work-love the masterpiece you are holding in the final pic-he is a cutie!
Such creative designs!
